
FARMVILLE, Va. - Hayden Nierman picked up his first win of the season going 3.0 innings in relief allowing only two hits with no runs and two strikeouts while
Andrew Hill picked up his first save of the season allowing only one hit with four strikeouts in 2.0 innings of work to lead Oakland to a 2-1 win in game one. In the nightcap,
Will Nigut picked up the no-decision posting eight strikeouts allowing two runs on five scattered hits in 5.2 innings of work as the Golden Grizzlies fell in walk-off fashion, 3-2, to split the 7-inning doubleheader.

Michael Stygles all accounted for one of Oakland's (3-3) four total hits.
Brandon Deans got the no-decision going 2.0 innings allowing a hit, three walks with two strikeouts.
Oakland got on the board in the top of the first inning as Miller scored off a throwing error after stealing third base for a 1-0 lead. Longwood (4-3) responded tying the game in the bottom half off a sacrifice fly.
The Golden Grizzlies got the game-winning run in the top of the fifth inning. With two runners on,
Brenton Phillips reached on a throwing error by the shortstop which in turn allowed
Gabe Lux to score for a 2-1 advantage. Oakland then turned things over to Hill who closed out the game.
In game two, Post, Phillips,
Josh Dudden,
Tyler Trovinger and Stygles each recorded a hit.
Both teams got a pair of runs in the second inning as Brooks Ashler delivered a sacrifice fly to left field to plate Dudden.
Seth Tucker then followed with an RBI single to score Trovinger. Longwood then tied the game at 2-2 with a pair of unearned runs off two errors.
The game would stay tied until the bottom of the seventh inning when the Lancers once against capitalized off an error to load the bases and then got a walk-off sac fly to win the game, 3-2.
Both teams will play the series finale on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m.
