Biography

2021:
• Started in all 38 games played at shortstop and designated hitter
• Ranked second on the team in batting (.346), doubles (9), runs scored (33) and stolen bases (9), third in hits (46), fourth in walks (17) and total bases (61) and fifth in RBI (19), at bats (133) and slugging percentage (.459).
• Had a seven-game hit steak
• Tied for the team lead in multi-hit games (13)
• Second on team hitting .483 going 10-for-29 with 10 runs, four doubles, three RBI, two walks and 18 total bases at Milwaukee (4/30-5/2) & NKU (5/7-9)
• Second on the team hitting .667 going 8-for-12 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs with 10 total bases against Northern Kentucky (5/7-9
• Hit .353 going 6-for-17 two doubles, seven runs, two walks, RBI and eight total bases at Milwaukee (4/30-5/2)
• Led the team hitting .357 going 5-for-14 with two doubles, two RBI, two walks and three runs with seven total bases at Youngstown State (2/23-25)
• Hit .417 going 5-for-12 with three RBI, a double, three runs, and three stolen bases. After going 2-for-4 in game one, Elion also went 2-for-4 in game two with a run and two walks while hitting a clutch two-run double in the top of the seventh to help secure Oakland's 5-3 win. He also went 1-for-3 with an RBI, run, and a pair of walks in the series finale. at Dayton (3/5-7).

Iowa
2020:
• Season canceled by Big Ten Conference and NCAA on March 12 due to concerns of COVID-19
• Started one game as the designated hitter hitting .167 (1-for-6) with three RBI and two runs scored
• Had a pinch-hit, game-tying sacrifice fly in the 5-4, extra-inning win over No. 20 North Carolina (2/29)
• Went 1-for-4 with a double, RBI, and run scored in come-from-behind win over No. 14 Duke (3/1)
 
2019:
• Started 18 games all at third base hitting .159 (11-of-69) with 10 runs and seven RBI
• Had two multi-hit games (two 2-hit)
• Went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI in win over Western Illinois (5/1)
• Had irst multi-hit game of the season, finishing 2-for-4 with two runs in game one against Cal State Northridge (3/16)
• Delivered ninth-inning triple and scored the game-winning run in the series-clinching win at No. 19 Oklahoma State (3/2).
 
2018:
• Appeared in 45 games with 37 starts — 32 at third base and five as the designated hitter
• Hit .275 (39-of-142) with 13 runs and 27 RBI, hit safely in 26 games and reached safely in 29 contests
• Had seven multi-hit games (four 2-hit, one 3-hit, one 4-hit, one 5-hit)
• Became the second Hawkeye in the last decade to hit for the cycle, finishing 5-for-6 with two home runs, six RBI, and four runs in the 16-1 win over Coe College (4/11). The five hits tied a single-game school record and a Big Ten high; two home runs were the first two of his career
• Went 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in a midweek win over Milwaukee (4/25)
• Featured on SportsCenter Top 10 plays on April 8 after making a spectacular defensive play to his right at third base against Ohio State. The play was No. 8 on the plays of the day
• Drove in three runs, finishing 2-for-4 with three RBIs in game two victory over Ohio State (4/7)
• Tallied fourth multi-hit game in the series finale at No. 22 Illinois, finishing 2-for-4 with two RBIs
• Had the game-tying two-run single in the sixth inning, game-tying, eighth-inning, pinch-hit RBI single against Bradley (3/28)
• Drove in career-high three RBI in Iowa’s midweek win over Cornell (2/27), finishing 1-for-3 in the contest
• Had a pair of multi-hit games at the Diamond 9 Sunshine State Classic
• Went 3-for-4 with a run scored vs. Toledo (2/16) in his first game as a Hawkeye, including singling and scoring the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning
• Hit 2-for-5 with a run scored against Old Dominion (2/18) and had two steals vs. Oakland (2/17)
 
2017 World University Games:
• Started five games at third base finishing second on team with .364 (8-of-22) average with two doubles, four runs, and an RBI
• Posted a hit in 5-of-6 games
• Went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI against Japan (8/22) and 3-for-4 with a run scored against Korea (8/26)
• Had one of team’s three hits in gold medal game against Japan (8/29).
 
2016 Kirkwood Community College:
• All-region selection as a freshman after hitting .347 with a team-best 21 extra base hits and 45 RBI
• Finished with 63 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, and six home runs and also stole 14 bases and with a .530 slugging percentage
 
High School:
• Four-year letter winner for Head Coach Leroy Franklin
• Three-time all-conference and all-district selection
• Hit .392 as a senior helping team to a conference title and a fourth-place state finish
• Hit above .300 all four years: .325 as a freshman, .333 as a sophomore, and .357 as a junior
