Women's Basketball Welcomes Sean Mullen as Video Coordinator

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland Women's Basketball has announced the addition of Sean Mullen to the Golden Grizzlies coaching staff as the program's Video Coordinator.

"Sean brings tremendous experience from two outstanding programs in Michigan State and Baylor, and that background will be a huge asset to our team. He has a great basketball mind, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for helping others grow," said Oakland Head Coach Keisha Newell. "While I'm excited about what he'll bring as a coach, I'm even more excited about the person we're adding to our program. Sean is someone who will positively impact our players every day, and we're grateful to welcome him to the Oakland family."

A native of Plymouth, Mich., Mullen arrives in Rochester after spending the past two seasons as a graduate assistant with the Baylor women's basketball program, where he gained valuable experience working with one of the nation's premier programs.

During his time with the Bears, Mullen played an integral role in the team's daily operations, focusing on defensive analytics, scouting preparation, recruiting support and player development. His responsibilities included creating video packages for prospective student-athletes, assisting with scouting reports and contributing to player development sessions. Mullen worked closely with four All-Big 12 selections during his time with the Bears.

Baylor advanced to the NCAA Tournament in both of Mullen's seasons with the program and reached the Big 12 Championship Game during his tenure.

Before joining the Baylor staff, Mullen spent time as a scout team member with Michigan State Women's Basketball, supporting Big Ten competition and assisting with daily practice operations under legendary head coaches Suzy Merchant and Robin Fralick.

Mullen earned his bachelor's degree in supply chain management from Michigan State before continuing his education and coaching career at Baylor.

"I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to join Coach Newell's staff and to be a part of the Oakland women's basketball program," said Mullen. "I'm excited to get back home and get to work while contributing to Coach's vision for this program!"

Mullen joins the Golden Grizzlies as Oakland continues preparations for the 2026-27 season under Newell, bringing power four experience and a high-level of basketball IQ to the team.
