ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland Women's Basketball has released its 2026-27 conference schedule, setting the stage for year two under the new regime led by head coach Keisha Newell and her staff as they continue their pursuit of success in the Horizon League.

Oakland continues to build its culture, returning four starters from a year ago. The Golden Grizzlies surpassed expectations in 2025-26, nearly upsetting Cleveland State in the first round of the Horizon League Championship.

DECEMBER

Oakland opens conference play with three games to close out the calendar year. The Golden Grizzlies will first travel to Northern Illinois on Dec. 3 for their first-ever showdown as conference opponents. Just three days later, on Dec. 6, Oakland will play its first home conference game, hosting IU Indy. The Golden Grizzlies will then take a break from Horizon League play before closing out the calendar year with a road matchup against Northern Kentucky (NKU).

JANUARY

The Golden Grizzlies go full tilt into the conference schedule in January. After a Jan. 2 trip to Wright State, Oakland will have three consecutive home games against Youngstown State (Jan. 7), Milwaukee (Jan. 9) and Cleveland State (Jan. 13).

The Golden Grizzlies will take on their first Metro Series test at Calihan Hall on Jan. 16, kicking off a three-game road trip that continues with matchups against Youngstown State (Jan. 21) and Robert Morris (Jan. 23).

Oakland closes the month with another homestand, hosting NKU on Jan. 27 and Purdue Fort Wayne on Jan. 31.

FEBRUARY

Oakland starts the final month of the regular season with a big test at the OU Credit Union O'Rena, hosting reigning league champion Green Bay on Feb. 3 before a 2025-26 playoff rematch at Cleveland State on Feb. 6.

After a challenging start to the month, Oakland has a more favorable stretch and a chance to build momentum as the Golden Grizzlies travel to Milwaukee (Feb. 10), host Wright State (Feb. 13) and travel to face the Mastodons in Fort Wayne (Feb. 17).

Oakland will play two of its final three games in Rochester, with a chance to secure a higher postseason spot. The Golden Grizzlies will host Northern Illinois (Feb. 20) and Detroit Mercy (Feb. 27), with a final road trip against IU Indy (Feb. 25) sandwiched in between.

With a highly anticipated season in store, the Golden Grizzlies are poised to continue their improvement and establish themselves as a legitimate threat in the Horizon League.
