ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies continue to reload this offseason, adding newest signee Berlynn Carlson to the roster.
"I am excited to welcome Berlynn to the OU family. She is an extremely versatile player whose length will impact the game on both ends of the floor," said Oakland head coach
Keisha Newell. "Her skill set allows her to play multiple positions and brings a lot of flexibility to our team. She's a competitor in every sense, and I'm excited to see it all come together for her here at Oakland."
Carlson, a 6'3" forward from Beaverton, Ore., spent her first season of collegiate hoops at Mount St. Mary's, where she averaged 7.4 points and nearly seven rebounds per game. She made 15 starts in 25 appearances as a freshman, tallying six double-digit scoring games, including a season-high 16 points (6-for-10 FG) against Mercyhurst. She also recorded a pair of double-doubles during the season, delivering 15 points and 10 rebounds against Quinnipiac and 12 points and 10 rebounds against St. Peter's.
Carlson also had a prolific high school career at Mountainside High School, where she was a three-time first-team all-conference selection, surpassing 1,200 career points with four 30-point performances. She was named Mountainside MVP in 2025 and earned Player of the Tournament honors at the Holiday Classic. She is one of Oakland's highest-ranked recruits in recent years, having been ranked No. 73 nationally in the Class of 2025 by Junior All-Star National Rankings, and was nominated for Oregon's 2025 Gatorade Player of the Year.
A two-way presence on the wing, Carlson is a perfect complementary piece for the Oakland system, pairing well with Oakland's array of guards while adding depth to the frontcourt.
