INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Outside hitter Liv Hosford was named one of two Horizon League Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Hosford is the first Oakland freshman to earn the award since Patti Cesarini in 2020. Cesarini was named the Horizon League's first Player of the Week that season in January 2021 after the campaign was moved due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Rockford, Mich., native has started all 20 matches for the Golden Grizzlies this season. Hosford leads Oakland with 3.72 points and 3.28 kills per set, while her 236 total kills rank second on the team.

In Oakland's two-match sweep of Robert Morris on the road Oct. 16-17, Hosford averaged 3.89 kills and 4.39 points per set, totaling 35 kills across nine sets while posting a .213 hitting percentage. She also recorded three service aces, two blocks, and 33 digs, averaging 3.67 digs per set.

Hosford ranks first in the Horizon League in overall points with 39.5 and second in total kills with 35 among #HLVB players. Her overall points and total kills rank among the top 50 nationally.

Oakland returns to conference play Thursday, Oct. 22, at Cleveland State. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN+.
