ROCHESTER, Mich. — Oakland (6-11, 1-5 HL) dropped 3-0 to IU Indy  (9-10, 4-2 HL) on Saturday, falling 16-25, 22-25, 24-26. The Golden Grizzlies hit .240 with 35 kills, while the Jags finished at .374 with 52 kills. Oakland moved from a 9-7 deficit to a 12-10 lead in the second set, but the Jaguars went on to take the set 25-22.

Outside hitter Liv Hosford led Oakland with 11 kills, hit .310 and added seven digs and two blocks. Outside hitter Molly Reck recorded 10 kills on a .308 hitting percentage and collected a team-high nine digs, as middle blocker Ellen Zapp added five kills, two service aces and one block while hitting .385. Running a 6-2 offense, setter Delaney Stern finished with a team-leading 15 assists and five digs.

Oakland was within 15-12 after back-to-back kills by opposite hitter Ella Schomer and Zapp, but the Jaguars followed with six straight points, including two Oakland attack errors and an ace, to move ahead 21-12. Earlier, Oakland opened the set with Hosford's kill from Stern before the Jaguars built a 6-2 advantage. Oakland kept finding responses through Hosford, Zapp and Schomer, with Hosford also joining on a block that made it 12-9. Hosford accounted for Oakland's final two kills, both assisted by setter Morgin Parsley, before the Jaguars closed out the opening set 25-16.

Oakland's second-set push carried it to a 16-13 lead, but the Jaguars answered with six straight points to move ahead 19-16 and eventually took the set 25-22. Earlier, after the Jaguars led 9-6, Oakland responded with a Hosford kill, a Schomer-middle blocker Kamsi Iweajunwa block and back-to-back Reck kills from Stern to go in front 10-9, then used a Jaguars attack error and an Oakland ace during libero Kalli Cook's service turn for a 12-10 edge. Oakland added another stretch after falling behind 19-16, with Zapp and Hosford recording kills before a Zapp service ace tied the set at 19-19, and Hosford later answered for a 20-20 tie. The Jaguars scored three of the next four points, and although Reck's kill from Stern brought Oakland to 23-22, the Jaguars closed the set with the final two points.

Oakland took a 20-16 lead in the third set on Hosford's kill from Parsley, but the Jaguars scored five straight points to move ahead 21-20 and later closed out a 26-24 set. Earlier, Zapp opened Oakland's scoring with a kill from Stern and then teamed with Hosford on a block, while Reck added early kills and a service ace as Oakland built a 9-5 advantage. Reck's fourth kill of the set and a Zapp ace pushed Oakland to 16-10 before middle blocker Lillian Frias and Hosford helped the Golden Grizzlies reach 20 points. After the Jaguars went ahead 21-20, Oakland answered with back-to-back points and later got kills from opposite hitter Caroline Moore and Frias for 23-22 and 24-23 leads. The Jaguars tied the set at 24-24 and followed with two more kills to take the set, 26-24.
