ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University's R&S Sharf Golf Course has earned national recognition, ranking No. 32 in Golfweek's Top 40 Collegiate Golf Courses in the country, as featured in the publication's September 18, 2026, issue.

The recognition marks another milestone for Oakland University's Golf and Learning Center and highlights the continued commitment to providing exceptional playing conditions and a championship-caliber golf experience.

Located on Oakland University's beautifully wooded campus, the Golf and Learning Center is home to two championship courses: the R&S Sharf Golf Course and the Katke-Cousins Golf Course. Both have hosted numerous professional and amateur tournaments, establishing Oakland as a premier destination for competitive golf in Michigan.

Beyond its two championship courses, Oakland University's Golf and Learning Center features a comprehensive practice facility. The facility includes a spacious driving range with more than 30,000 square feet of bentgrass hitting area, 28 premium hitting mats, and separate teaching tees for private instruction. Well-defined targets and landing areas allow golfers to practice in conditions that closely simulate on-course play.

The short-game practice area features three greens, five bunkers and multiple turf conditions, providing opportunities to develop every aspect of chipping, pitching and bunker play. A dedicated putting green is maintained at speeds consistent with the championship courses, allowing golfers to refine their putting under realistic playing conditions.

The ranking comes as Oakland continues investing in its golf facilities, with the goal of building on this recognition and further establishing the Golf and Learning Center as a destination for collegiate golf throughout the world.

The complete ranking can be found in the September 18 issue of Golfweek.
