MADISON, Wis. – The Oakland University men's golf team finished 19th at the Badger Invitational on Tuesday at the University Ridge Golf Course.
The Golden Grizzlies completed the 54-hole event with a team score of 908 (+44) on the par-72, 67286-yard course.
Senior Matteo Rocco paced Oakland with a seven-over 223, tying for 65th in a competitive field. The Toronto native tied for sixth in the field in par-4 average at an even 4.0 and led the Golden Grizzlies with 10 birdies, including five in the final round.
Finishing one after another were redshirt senior Jack Zubkus, senior Robert Burns, and senior Ben Willis. The trio finished with scores of 228, 229, and 230, respectively. Burns and Willis led Oakland with 32 pars apiece.
Completing the team for Oakland was junior Brennan Sullivan, who scored a 234.
At the Goat Hill Individual Championship, which featured individuals who traveled with teams competing in the Badger Invitational, freshman Marshall Morency placed 23rd with a 222 (+12). Competing on the par-70, 6,782-yard Pleasant View Golf Course, Morency recorded eight birdies.
