ROCHESTER, Mich. – Closing out the fall portion of the 2026-27 season, the Oakland men's golf team travels to Dayton, Ohio, to compete in the Dayton Flyer Invitation on Oct. 19-20. With both the men's and women's teams competing at the NCR Country Club, the men will play on the South Course, a par-71 layout measuring 7,055 yards.

The Golden Grizzlies return to the Dayton Flyer Invitational for the second consecutive year. Senior Robert Burns led the team at last year's event, tying for 16th with a 218 (+5), while Oakland finished 10th.

A shotgun start is scheduled for 9 a.m. ET on Monday for the first 36 holes, followed by the final 18 holes Tuesday. The 13-team field features host Dayton, Ball State, Belmont, Butler, Cleveland State, DePaul, Illinois State, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Oakland, Ohio, St. Thomas, and Wright State.

The Dayton Flyer Invitational marks Oakland's third invitational in as many weeks. The Golden Grizzlies finished ninth at last week's Purdue Fall Invitational, which used a "play six, count five" format. Redshirt senior Jack Zubkus led Oakland by tying for 14th with a one-over 217.

Senior Matteo Rocco and freshmen Noah Andry and Marshall Morency will join Zubkus and Burns in the Dayton Flyer Invitational. Andry, Marshall, Rocco, and Zubkus will tee off on hole one alongside Dayton, while Burns will tee off on hole two with Dayton and Ball State.

Live stats for each round will be available on Clippd.
