ROCHESTER, Mich. – Competing in the second of three consecutive tournament weeks, the Oakland University men's golf team will compete in the Purdue Fall Invitational on Oct. 12-13 at the Kampen-Cosler Course (par-72, 7,465 yards) in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Unlike the traditional "play five, count four" format for golf tournaments, this year's Purdue Fall Invitational will use a "play six, count five" scoring format.

The 14-team field includes host Purdue, Ball State, Bowling Green, Butler, DePaul, Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana, Northern Illinois, Oakland, Omaha, Purdue Fort Wayne, Southern Illinois, and Toledo.

Oakland finished in fourth place at last week's Tom Tontimonia Invitational, where the Golden Grizzlies carded a 54-hole team score of 868 (+16). Junior Brennan Sullivan recorded his first collegiate hole-in-one in the second round, while redshirt senior Jack Zubkus finished in the top 10 with a one-over 214. Horizon League foes Purdue Fort Wayne and Green Bay finished nine strokes ahead of Oakland, tying for second.

The Golden Grizzlies will compete in the Purdue Fall Invitational for the second time after making their debut last season. Oakland placed third last year with a score of 867 (+3). Senior Matteo Rocco paced the team with a one-under 215, tying for 11th while holding the tournament's individual score for portions of the event.

Rocco, Sullivan, and Zubkus will join seniors Robert Burns and Ben Willis, and freshman Marshall Morency in Oakland's lineup for the Purdue Fall Invitational.

Live stats for each round will be available on Clippd.
