BARTONVILLE, Illinois – The Oakland Women's Golf team finished third for the second consecutive year at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic.
Oakland once again placed four golfers among the top 20 finishers. Olivia Hemmila led for the Golden Grizzlies, marking her third straight invitational as the top team finisher. However, senior Grace Boczar shot two-over-par in the final round, tying Hemmila for the top spot and ninth overall at the Classic. Boczar also recorded the most pars in the event with 40 out of 54 holes.
Individual competitor Logan Bentley had her best tournament of the season, improving her previous score by just one stroke. Bentley was one of four players to make an eagle at the Classic and carded seven birdies, tying for the fifth most. She finished tied for 15th place with a final score of +18.
Lily Bargamian and Paige Scott also posted top-25 performances. Bargamian (T19th, +19) had the third most birdies during the event (nine), while Scott (24th, +21) joined Bentley with scoring an eagle.
The Golden Grizzlies' team results were consistent with last year's Bradley Coyote Creek Classic, with all four scoring golfers competing again and only increasing their total team score by one stroke. Oakland finished 43 strokes behind the second-place team and host school Bradley, while they finished 15 strokes ahead of Evansville.
