MEN'S SOCCER REVEALS 2022 SCHEDULE

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University Men's Soccer and Head Coach Eric Pogue have released the program's 2022 regular season schedule for the upcoming fall.

Oakland will have three-straight exhibitions to start out the year, twice at home on August 13 and August 16 against Saginaw Valley State and Ohio State before making a trip to Akron on August 19.

"We have put together another top class Fall 2022 schedule that will help us with achieving our ultimate goals come mid-November of winning Horizon League championships, advancing into the NCAA Tournament, and being a nationally recognized program," said Pogue.

The regular season will then get underway in Omaha, Nebraska on August 25 and 28 against Creighton and Omaha, respectively. Oakland's home opener would be September 1 at 7:00 p.m. as DePaul comes to Rochester ahead of a second-straight, third-overall Big East team Butler hitting the pitch at OU on September 4.

"Scheduling a non-conference slate that includes the likes of national and regional powers Creighton, Grand Canyon, Michigan, Akron, Ohio State, Butler, DePaul, WMU, BGSU, Omaha and SVSU will be a stiff test week in and week out, but this experience will ultimately help prepare us for the always difficult Horizon League championship race," said Pogue, "We want to play the very best teams possible at Oakland University Men's Soccer."

The Horizon League opener occurs September 10 in Fort Wayne against Purdue Fort Wayne to start a four-straight road swing at Grand Canyon on September 13, at Michigan on September 19, and at Bowling Green on September 7. The Golden Grizzlies will then get both Robert Morris on September 28 and Detroit Mercy on October 1 for Ted Lasso/Kids Night.

OU will travel on October 8 and October 12 to Cleveland State and Green Bay, respectively, as conference play rolls before Homecoming and a celebration of 50 years of Oakland Soccer on October 15 for a match with Wright State. Two more home games round out the stand on October 18 versus Western Michigan and October 22 for Senior Day against IUPUI.

The season concludes with a trip to Milwaukee to play the Panthers on October 29 and the finale at home on November 2 versus Northern Kentucky.

"Our schedule will give us two strong opportunities to make the NCAA Tournament, one as the Horizon League Tournament champions and two by potentially receiving an NCAA At-Large which we've done twice before with strong out of conference results," said Pogue.
