MEET OLIVIA SIMS:
Olivia is one of seven newcomers on the 2021-22 squad
 

 
Full Name: Olivia Sims
Birthdate: 3/12/03
Hometown: Toledo, Ohio
High School: Notre Dame Academy
Major: Political Science
 
High school highlights:
• Four-year letter winner and one-year captain for Head Coach Travis Galloway
• First-Team All-League and All-District selection and Third-Team All-State selection as a junior
• Helped Notre Dame win three consecutive league and district championships (2018, 2019, 2020), two regional titles (2019, 2020) and back-two-back State Tournament Final Four appearances.

Q&A:
Q: How excited are you to play this season on the women's basketball team?
A: I am super excited to be a part of this year's team!

Q: What do you feel is the best skill set you can bring to the team?
A: I think the best skill I bring to this team is shooting.

Q: What was the major reason you decided to ultimately choose Oakland University?
A: I really liked the coaches and the distance from home.

Q: How do you feel your game will transition to the Division I college level?
A: I think my game will get faster and my IQ will continue to grow.

Q: Is there any part of your game you want to improve on as you transition into your role on the team?
A: I want to improve my quickness and finishing.

Q: What would you say is the most important lesson you have learned so far after completing summer workouts and heading into season practice?
A: The most important lesson I have learned so far is that nutrition and hydration are key to making sure I can perform at a high level.

Q: What are you short-term and long-term goals you have for yourself as an incoming freshman student-athlete?
A:  My long term goal this season is to stay consistent on the court and in the classroom. My short term goal for this season is to make an impact on the team wherever I can and to learn as much as I can.
