
NILES, Ohio - Andrew Hill has a solid outing on the mound tossing 6.1 innings with three strikeouts while allowing only two runs, one earned, on four hits in the no-decision effort.
Lorenzo Elion went 2-for-3 with a double, run scored and walk while
Tyler Trovinger hit 1-for-2 with a pair of walks as Oakland fell 4-3 in walk-off fashion for the second time in the series at Youngstown State on Saturday.
Jared Miller also went 1-for-4 with a double and a walk.
The game was scoreless until the fifth inning when
Brandon Heidal scored off a throwing error giving Oakland (9-21, 3-16 HL) a 1-0 lead.
The Golden Grizzlies then held the Penguins scoreless before getting back on the board the very next inning as Elion came across to score off a wild pitch for a 2-0 advantage.
Youngstown State (21-17, 16-11 HL) clawed back to tie the ballgame with a pair of bases-loaded walks to draw even at 2-2 in the seventh inning.
Oakland reclaimed a 3-2 advantage in the top of the ninth inning as
Seth Tucker scored off a throwing error. However, the Golden Grizzlies were unable to hold the lead in the bottom half as Youngstown State got an RBI triple to tie the game at 3-3 followed by a walk-off RBI single to grab the 4-3 win.
Both teams will play the series finale on Sunday, Apr. 25 at 1 p.m.
