
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Michael Stygles hit 1-for-4 with an RBI double and run scored while

Tyler Trovinger, and
Seth Tucker each recorded a hit as Oakland dropped the home opener to UIC, 8-2, on Friday at the Oakland Baseball Field.
Brandon Deans (3-1) got the start going 6.0 innings allowing four runs with five strikeouts in just his first loss of the season.
After trailing 4-0 in the sixth inning, Stygles' RBI double with two outs scored Trovinger to put the Golden Grizzlies (8-12, 2-7 HL) on the board.
The Flames expanded their lead to 6-1 in the seventh before
Gabe Lux came across to score the lone run of the eighth inning for Oakland off a wild pitch which brought the score to 6-2 in favor of the Flames (8-12, 2-7 HL).Â
However, the Golden Grizzlies were unable to get any closer as UIC added two runs to their tally on the way to the 8-2 final.Â
Both teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 27 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
