GAMES 19-20: OAKLAND HITS THE ROAD FOR PAIR OF LEAGUE GAMES AT NORTHERN KENTUCKY AND WRIGHT STATE

Golden Grizzlies and Norse tip off on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. followed by the Raiders on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. on ESPN3

ROCHESTER, Mich. –
The Oakland women's basketball team heads South for a pair of league games beginning at Northern Kentucky on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. followed by Wright State on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live from BB&T Arena and the Nutter Center respectively on ESPN3.
 
Notes:
Last Time Out: Autumn Kissman scored in double figures for the fourth consecutive game posting a team-high 16 points on 7-for-14 shooting while Kahlaijah Dean added 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting and 2-for-2 from the 3-point line as Oakland battled through three quarters before Cleveland State pulled away in the fourth quarter leading to a 79-58 setback at the O'rena.
 
Series History: Oakland leads the overall series 8-6 but NKU has won the last three consecutive meetings while Wright State leads the overall series 15-1 having won the last 14 straight games over the Golden Grizzlies.
 
Scouting the Norse: NKU sits in sixth place in the league standings with a 3-4 mark (9-9 overall). Redshirt senior Molly Glick leads the team in scoring (12.2 ppg) while Kailey Coffey is tops in rebounds (5.3). Ally Niece leads the way in assists (3.9).
 
A look at the Raiders: WSU, the defending regular season and tournament champions, sits in second place in the league standings at 5-2 (10-8 overall). Sophomore Angel Baker leads WSU and ranks second in the Horizon League in scoring (17.0) and is also tops in assists (3.1) which is fourth in the league. sophomore Savanna Crockett is tops on the team in rebounds (8.5) which also ranks second in the league. Junior Tyler Frierson leads the Raiders in rebounds (8.8) which is second in the league.
 
Kissman Front and Center: Center Autumn Kissman has stepped up in a big way since being inserted into the starting lineup by posting her first two career double-doubles. Against, Green Bay (1/9) she Kissman poured in a career-best 19 points with 11 rebounds and followed with her second straight double-double scoring 13 points with a career-high 14 rebounds against Milwaukee (1/11). With her 16 points against CSU, she has now scored in double figures in four consecutive games.
 
Double-Doubles: Oakland has had five players in Chloe Guingrich (2), Sydney Gouard (1) and Kayla Luchenbach (1) who have produced six total double-doubles so far this season.
 
Gettin' Buckets: The Golden Grizzlies have had four players score over 20 points this season with Terry (2), Dean (1) and Sydney Gouard (1). Terry has reached double figures in 11 games this season followed by Luchenbach (7) Dean (8) and Guingrich (6) Kissman (4). Guingrich also ranks second in field goal percentage (56.2).
 
Charity Stripe Production: Oakland is second in the Horizon League in free throw percentage (76.1) which also ranks 23rd nationally. Jalisha Terry also ranks second leads the league (86.5) and ranks 23rd nationally. Oakland went 30-for-34 against Green Bay (1/9) marking the first time the team made 30-plus free throws since posting 36 against Chicago State 21 years to the date on Jan. 9, 1999.
 
Guard the Arc: The Golden Grizzlies also rank third in the league in 3-point field goal percentage defense (29.3).
 
Team Leader: Terry leads the team in scoring (12.1 – 8th HL), assists (3.2 – 4th HL) and steals (1.3 – 10th HL). Against Green Bay and Milwaukee, Terry averaged 22.0 points, 3.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 11-for-27 (40.7%) and 18-for-22 (81.8%) from the free throw line. Against the Phoenix, Terry poured in a career-high 25 points going 3-for-6 from 3-point range and 5-for-12 from the field with three assists while connecting on 12-of-13 (92.3%) from the free throw line to help seal the win. She then added a game-high 19 points going 6-for-15 from the field and 6-for-9 from the free throw line with five rebounds and four assists against Milwaukee.
 
Dynamic Dean Strong Off the Bench: Kahlaijah Dean came off the bench and scored a season and game-high 27 points with six assists while matching a career-best going 9-for-11 from the free throw line against Green Bay (1/9). She also scored 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting and 3-of-6 from 3-point range at St. Bonaventure. Since returning from injury against Jacksonville State, Dean has reached double figures seven times and eight total on the season.
 
Fourth Quarter Closeout: Oakland is a perfect 8-0 on the season when leading at the start of the fourth quarter and also with five minutes remaining in the game.
 
40/40 Club: For the second time this season, Oakland shot over 40 percent from both the field (40.3) and 3-point range (40.9) against Green Bay. The Golden Grizzlies also shot 43.3 and 43.8 from the field and from behind the arc respectively against Lourdes (12/21).
 
I'll Take That: Oakland ranks third in steals per game (7.94) and turnovers forced (16.39).
 
Get that Outta Here: As a team, Oakland is fourth in blocked shots per game (2.44). Individually, Guingrich ranks 11th (0.6) followed by Luchenbach in 14th (0.6). Luchenbach posted a career-high in blocks (4) vs Concordia (11/8) while Guingrich matched her career-best (2) vs CMU (12/18).
 
Big Wins: Oakland went 2-0 against Green Bay and Milwaukee last week which marked the first time since the 2016-17 season the Golden Grizzlies got wins over both schools in consecutive games at home on the Blacktop.
 
Crash the Boards: The Golden Grizzlies are fourth in the league in total rebounds per game (37.7), second in defensive rebounds (26.9) and seventh in offensive rebounds (10.8). Individually, Guingrich (8.1) and Luchenbach (5.1) rank fourth and 20th respectively.
 
Pass/Protect the Rock: The team ranks fifth in turnover margin (0.89) and fourth in assist/turnover ratio (0.94) and while Terry (1.7) ranks second.
 
Droppin' Dimes: Oakland ranks third in assists per game (14.56) while Terry (3.2) ranks fourth, Brianna Breedy seventh (2.9) followed by Kahlaijah Dean (2.8) in ninth.
 
Big Three Takeover: Kahlaijah Dean, Jalisha Terry and Autumn Kissman combined for 71 points to lead Oakland to a thrilling 93-88 win over Green Bay on Thursday Night at the O'rena which snapped a four-game skid against the Phoenix. Dean scored a season and game-high 27 points with six assists followed by a career-high 25 points from Terry and first career double-double by Kissman with a career-best 19 points and 11 rebounds.
