
ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland women's basketball team concludes its four-game home stand this week starting with Youngstown State on Facility Appreciation Night presented by Farm Bureau Insurance on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. The Golden Grizzlies then host Cleveland State on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. for Childhood Cancer Awareness Day presented by the Oakland University Credit Union. Fan are encouraged to wear gold. Both games will be broadcast live from the Blacktop at the O'rena on ESPN3 respectively with Brad Golder on the call.

Last Time Out: For the second consecutive game, the big three combination of
Autumn Kissman,
Jalisha Terry and
Kahlaijah Dean each reached double figures combining for 49 points to lead Oakland to a 78-62 win over Milwaukee to complete the weekend sweep in Horizon League play. Kissman posted her second straight double-double with 13 points and a career-high 14 rebounds while Terry added a game-high 19 points followed by Dean with 17 points.
Kayla Luchenbach also added 10 points as the win marked the first time Oakland defeated both Green Bay and Milwaukee at home since the 2016-17 season. This quartette of players also combined to grab 30 of Oakland's (8-8, 3-2 HL) 38 rebounds.
Series History: YSU leads the overall series 13-9 and have the last three consecutive games over Oakland while CSU leads the overall series 8-5 and have won the last four games over the Golden Grizzlies.
Scouting the Penguins: Junior Chelsea Olson leads Youngstown State in scoring (10.8 ppg), rebounds (6.1) and assists (2.8).
A look at the Vikings: Senior Marah Miller leads CSU and the Horizon League in scoring (19.3) while sophomore Savanna Crockett is tops on the team in rebounds (8.5) which also ranks second in the league. Junior Maria White leads the Vikings in assists (3.6) which is second in the league.
Kissman fills the Void: With Chole Guingrich missing the last two games,
Autumn Kissman was inserted into the starting lineup and stepped up in a big way posting her first two career double-doubles. Against, Green Bay (1/9) she Kissman poured in a career-best 19 points with 11 rebounds and followed with her second straight double-double scoring 13 points with a career-high 14 rebounds against Milwaukee (1/11).
Double-Doubles: With Kissman's performance last week, Oakland now has had five players in Chole Guingrich (2),
Sydney Gouard (1) and
Kayla Luchenbach (1) who have produced six total double-doubles so far this season.
Big Wins: Oakland went 2-0 against Green Bay and Milwaukee last week which marked the first time since the 2016-17 season the Golden Grizzlies got wins over both schools in consecutive games at home on the Blacktop.
40/40 Club: For the second time this season, Oakland shot over 40 percent from both the field (40.3) and 3-point range (40.9) against Green Bay. The Golden Grizzlies also shot 43.3 and 43.8 from the field and from behind the arc respectively against Lourdes (12/21).
Gettin' Buckets: Terry has reached double figures in nine games this season followed by Luchenbach (7) and Guingrich (5). Guingrich also ranks second in field goal percentage (56.2).
Charity Stripe Production: Oakland is second in the Horizon League in free throw percentage (75.4) which also ranks 35th nationally.
Jalisha Terry also ranks second leads the league (86.4) and ranks 28th nationally.
Team Leader: Terry leads the team in scoring (12.1 – 9th HL), assists (3.2 – 4th HL) and steals (1.4 – 7th HL). Against Green Bay and Milwaukee, Terry averaged 22.0 points, 3.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 11-for-27 (40.7%) and 18-for-22 (81.8%) from the free throw line. Against the Phoenix, Terry poured in a career-high 25 points going 3-for-6 from 3-point range and 5-for-12 from the field with three assists while connecting on 12-of-13 (92.3%) from the free throw line to help seal the win. She then added a game-high 19 points going 6-for-15 from the field and 6-for-9 from the free throw line with five rebounds and four assists against Milwaukee.
Dynamic Dean Strong Off the Bench: Kahlaijah Dean came off the bench and scored a season and game-high 27 points with six assists while matching a career-best going 9-for-11 from the free throw line against Green Bay (1/9). She also scored 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting and 3-of-6 from 3-point range at St. Bonaventure. Since returning from injury against Jacksonville State, Dean has reached double figures five times and six total on the season.
Guard the Arc: The Golden Grizzlies also rank second in the league in 3-point field goal percentage defense (27.6).
