
INDIANAPOLIS – Oakland guard
Taylor Jones was named Horizon League Nike® Player of the Week, announced the league office on Monday.
Jones, a Detroit, Mich. native, averaged 25.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists shooting 20-for-36 (55.6%) from the field and 3-for-7 from 3-point range (42.9%) with two double-doubles against IUPUI and UIC over the weekend. Jones posted her sixth double-double of the season with a career-high 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting while grabbing 10 rebounds with three assists and two steals as Oakland came up short in the upset bid against IUPUI. She followed that performance with her seventh double-double scoring a game-high 23 points while grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out nine assists to just miss recording her second triple-double of the season while leading Oakland to a win over UIC.
Oakland hits the road for a league tilt at Green Bay on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
