What does being inducted to the Hall of Honor mean to you
My time at Oakland completely shaped me into the person I am today. It was some of the best years of my life where I also met some of the best people who I'm still friends with to this day. I am very thankful to be included in the hall of honor and am excited to return to Oakland!
What does Oakland mean to you
Every time I come back to campus, I feel like I'm home.
What is your favorite Oakland memory
Traveling with my team, particularly the van rides.
What does your sport mean to you
It was a huge part of my life. I'd been playing at a very competitive level since I was 13 years old. I just feel so lucky that I was able to continue in college, and not only that, play at such an amazing university with such an awesome team! I really lucked in to committing to Oakland.
What did you do after your Oakland experience
But I lived in Roanoke, Virginia for four years where I worked as an admission counselor at Hollins University. I recently moved back home to Chicago, IL where I still work in higher education and have plans to start a family with my husband. (Five months pregnant right now, will be seven months at the time of the event). I also have plans to start on a masters in school counseling in the fall in order to become a certified guidance counselor.
This year's induction ceremony will take place on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 at the Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac. The event is open to the public, and those interested in attending can register here.
