MUNCIE, Ind. - Grace Keating and Cam Sabourin went to a tiebreaker in their doubles match, while Tamara Blum fell just short of pushing her singles match to a third set as the Oakland women's tennis team (1-7) fell to Ball State, 7-0, Friday evening at the Muncie YMCA.
"Everybody had moments of good play in their matches," said coach Heather Redshaw. "We just did not have enough to win today but are looking forward to having solid performances tomorrow at Wright State."
Keating and Sabourin fought to force a tiebreaker in their match against Lauren Pickrel and Paola Rodriguez before falling in the tiebreaker 7-5. Blum dropped the first set 6-2 and rallied in the second set but eventually dropped the second set 6-4. Sabourin also had a solid effort in her singles match against Kristel Saunders but fell 6-3, 6-3.
The Golden Grizzlies will be in action tomorrow as they travel to Dayton, Ohio to take on Wright State at the South Regency Tennis Center starting at 3:30 p.m.
