DAYTON, Ohio - Junior Karen Karoub picked up the first singles win of the season, for the Oakland women's tennis team (0-2) in a 6-1 loss at Wright State (3-3) on Saturday. The Golden Grizzlies also announced a time change for their game against Ball State on Sunday, as the match has been moved to 1 p.m.

"We had some players do really well today" Said Oakland head coach Heather Redshaw. "All of the matches took a long time as we played some very deep points. I don't think the scores truly reflect the challenges we posed across the board in all matches."

Karoub was able to rally back from a set down to defeat Amy Nini in a super-set tiebreaker that secured her win 2-6, 6-1, 11-9. It was the first win of the season for Karoub and the Oakland team, which has faced some stiff opponents in in its first two matches.

Junior Caitlin Young also played well at the No. 1 spot in the lineup before falling 7-5, 6-2 to Kayla Tuscany. Senior Jackie Dinicu gave a solid effort, winning a pair of games in her 6-0, 6-2 loss at No. 2 singles.

The Golden Grizzlies dropped the doubles point by falling 8-2 at both No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, while falling 8-0 at No. 2 doubles. Wright State won 6-0, 6-0 at both No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

Oakland returns to action on Sunday to play at Ball State at the new time of 1 p.m. Wright State def. Oakland - 6-1
