TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Former Oakland University pitching standouts Mike Takashima and Matt Trausch have found success on the baseball diamond after the end of their OU careers, as both have recently joined the Traverse City Beach Bums of the independent Frontier League. Takashima joined the Beach Bums on July 26 and has seen action in ten games in relief, posting a 3.45 ERA in 15.2 innings of work, striking out 15 hitters and walking only five, holding opponents to a .217 batting average. Trausch joined the Beach Bums on August 6, posting a 1-0 record in six relief appearances. Trausch has posted a 2.08 ERA in 8.2 innings, fanning six and walking two while holding opposing hitters to a .219 batting average.
