Women's Soccer Ranks Fifth in #HLWSOC Preseason Poll

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Horizon League announced its 2026 Under Armour Preseason Poll, ranking Oakland fifth entering the 2026 season.

The Golden Grizzlies are poised to make another jump in the standings in 2026, improving from a last-place finish in 2024 to a sixth-place finish and Horizon League Championship semifinal appearance in 2025.

Oakland finished the 2025 regular season undefeated at home in conference play, standing tall against every opponent and establishing a hard-nosed, gritty culture. Its overtime victory over Youngstown State in the 2025 Horizon League Championship Quarterfinals capped off the season, putting the conference on notice.

The Golden Grizzlies also return one of their strongest rosters in recent history, bolstered by high-level returners who have helped shape a major culture change, along with new student-athletes who bring Power Five experience and success to the program.

Entering the third year under head coach Devin Zvosec, the Golden Grizzlies are poised to not only win games, but compete for a Horizon League title and capture their first conference championship since 2015.
