INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Horizon League announced Tuesday that Oakland pitcher Grant Garman was named the #HLBASE Pitcher of the Week after a stellar performance against Northern Kentucky.

In just the sixth start of his career, Garman threw the first shutout of any Horizon League pitcher en route to a 10-0 Oakland win over Northern Kentucky on Saturday, Mar. 22. 

The freshman tossed six scoreless innings, striking out eight batters as he reached a team-high 26 strikeouts on the season, good for the sixth most in the conference.

Garman joins teammate Brody Fahnestock as the only Oakland players to earn a conference player or pitcher of the week nod so far this season.
