INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Horizon League announced the 2025 #HLMSOC All-Academic Team, naming three Golden Grizzlies to the squad.
The first name up was Gabe Baylon, who as the team captain earned his first All-Academic Team nod of his career. The graduate student from Chihuahua, Mexico has played and started in 15 games this season, tallying a goal and two assists.
Defender
Mohammad Jamal Issa and
Abdul Al-Rashed were also named to the All-Academic Team as honorable mentions. Both earning their first All-Academic nods as well.
Jamal Issa has played in 12 games, starting 10 as he has cemented a spot as a key cog in Oakland's defense. Abdul Rashed has started 10 of his 16 games played this season, tallying nine shots on goal and an assist as a spark plug in the middle of Oakland's attacking unit.
The three continue to lead Oakland as they close the regular season today, Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. against IU Indy.
