Men's Soccer Reveals 2026 Schedule

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland Men's Soccer has announced its 2026 schedule, featuring several marquee non-conference matchups, key Horizon League contests, and a number of games with significant storylines as the Golden Grizzlies prepare for the upcoming campaign.

Season Opens Against NCAA Tournament-Caliber Competition

Oakland begins the 2026 season with a pair of challenging road tests, opening the year at Marquette on Aug. 20 before traveling to Wisconsin on Aug. 23. The Golden Grizzlies will be tested immediately against two established programs before returning home later in the month.

Home Opener Welcomes UIC to Rochester

The Golden Grizzlies make their Oakland Soccer Field debut on Aug. 27 when they host UIC at 6 p.m. The match marks the first opportunity for Oakland fans to see the team at home and begins a seven-match home schedule for the 2026 campaign.

Early Conference Tests Against Cleveland State

Oakland opens Horizon League play with three of their first four conference games at home. The conference slate opens by hosting reigning conference champs Cleveland State on Sept. 9 before welcoming new to the conference Northern Illinois on Sept. 12. The Golden Grizzlies take on their first road conference test on Sept. 19 at Robert Morris, before returning home to battle IU Indy on Sept. 26.

In-State Battle at Michigan

One of the most anticipated non-conference contests of the season comes Sept. 29 when Oakland travels to Ann Arbor to face Michigan. The matchup serves as Oakland's final non-conference game before entering the heart of Horizon League play. The two teams played an electric match in 2025, where they played to a 2-2 draw in Rochester.

Playoff Rematch Against Green Bay

The Golden Grizzlies return home on Oct. 7 to host Green Bay in a matchup featuring two familiar Horizon League contenders. The contest serves as a rematch of last season's Horizon League Championship tournament meeting, where the Phoenix emerged victorious.
Rivalry Matchup Returns to Detroit

The annual Metro Series rivalry takes center stage on Oct. 17 as Oakland travels to face Detroit Mercy. One of the most anticipated matches on the schedule each season, the rivalry showdown will once again carry significant bragging rights and conference implications.

Home Finale Against Northern Kentucky

Oakland closes out its home schedule on Oct. 30 when Northern Kentucky visits Rochester for the Golden Grizzlies' regular-season home finale. The contest could prove pivotal as teams jockey for positioning ahead of the Horizon League Championship.

Regular Season Concludes at Wright State

The regular season wraps up Nov. 3 with a road contest at Wright State as Oakland looks to secure momentum heading into postseason play.
