DETROIT, Mich. – The Golden Grizzlies returned from Wayne State after competing in the annual WSU Doubles Tournament at the Duchene Athletic Facility.

Oakland competed against Wayne State, Findlay, and Tiffin in the invitational, where they went 4-6 overall. Doubles pairs for the Black and Gold were Edie Hammond and Emilia Jarvinen, Nisa Bulut and Tara Montreuil, and Martyna Piechowicz and Oliwia Klimas.

In the opening round, the Golden Grizzlies swept Tiffin's doubles teams, going 3-0. Piechowicz and Klimas dominated their match 6-0, maintaining their momentum from last month's Horizon League Individual Championships. Hammond and Jarvinen won 6-1, while Bulut and Montreuil edged out their match 7-5.

During the front draw's second round, Piechowicz and Klimas earned another win, defeating Wayne State's Selin Kayakent and Shanice Weekes 6-1. The pair advanced to the semifinals before narrowly falling in extra games to the runner-ups from Findlay, 7-5.
