CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Oakland Women's Tennis team brings home valuable experience from the first-ever Horizon League Individual Championships in the fall.
The Golden Grizzlies got going strong on the first day of the Horizon League Individual Championship. Friday showcased a pair of wins for both
Emilia Jarvinen (6-1, 6-0) and Warisara "Best" Lee (6-1, 6-3). Lee was seeded 6th for the singles draw.
The Golden Grizzlies headed into Saturday with multiple matches ahead.
Josie Ward secured a win against Sofia Castillo of IU Indy (7-5, 6-1). Doubles pair
Edie Hammond and
Nisa Bulut won against Fisk and Cameron of Northern Kentucky, 6-2. Another doubles pair,
Emilia Jarvinen and
Josie Ward, grabbed another win for the Golden Grizzlies, 6-2.
The Oakland Women's Tennis team will take the valuable experience from the Horizon League Individual Championships into their future matches this fall. The Golden Grizzlies head to Wayne State on October 19th for their next opportunity.
