Fall 2023 XC Slate Revealed

ROCHESTER, Mich. – On Thursday, Oakland University Men's and Women's Cross Country released the schedule for the highly anticipated 2023 season.

For the second year in a row, Oakland will open competition with the Mike Baumer XC Classic in Fairborn, Ohio on September 1 for a 5,000-kilometer test. Last season, the Golden Grizzlies men took fourth overall while the women strung a runner-up performance.

Next on the slate comes the Jaguar Invitational in Shelbyville, Indiana on September 15 where Horizon League foe IUPUI will host ahead of another Hoosier showdown on September 29 in South Bend, Indiana for the prestigious Joe Piane Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame.

The final meet of the regular season for the Golden Grizzlies will take place October 13 in Peoria, Illinois where Oakland will repeat as participants in the Pink Classic hosted by Bradley. Last time out, OU posted season and personal bests in one of the largest meets in the Midwest.

After hosting last year, the #HLXC Championships will be held in Fairborn, Ohio on October 28 where Wright State University will serve as the site of this year's conference championships. The Golden Grizzlies look to capitalize off of fourth and second-place finishes on the men's and women's side including an individual champion in Yami Albrecht last year.

This year's NCAA Great Lakes Regional will be held on the famous Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wisconsin on November 10 as Oakland and others will seek a berth into the NCAA Championships on November 18.
