UPLAND, Ind. – The Oakland men's and women's cross country teams had a small field of student-athletes compete at the Ray Bullock Invitational hosted by Taylor University Saturday afternoon. Senior Amy Rowan led the Golden Grizzly women as freshman Lucas Kuhn crossed the line first for the men.
Rowan, competing in her first meet of the season, finished the 6k in 23:01.55 for 14th place individually. Freshman Addison Johnson (23:51.21) and Chloe Stalhood (24:39.85) followed behind in 28th and 49th place, while sophomore Miriam Murrell finished 50th with a time of 24:42.29 at the TUXC Farm course.
On the men's side, Kuhn led the group of three runners for a 30th place finish at 26:31.82. Sophomore Brewer Snay ran the 8k in 26:57.08 for 42nd place and Collin McLaughlin closed out the pack in 50th with 27:21.21 on the clock.
Oakland is back on the course next weekend for a split Friday at the Alabama Crimson Classic at Alabama and the Mel Brodt Open at Bowling Green.
