ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland men's and women's cross country teams are set for a split weekend at two meets across the country this weekend. Part of the teams will head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the Alabama Crimson Classic, while another group will be in Bowling Green, Ohio for the Falcon Invitational.
The men's 8k will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Alabama Crimson Classic, while the women's 6k race will kick off at 10:20 a.m. ET on the Harry Pritchett Running Course located adjacent to the UA Arboretum. The Golden Grizzlies will be up against men's and women's teams such as Vanderbilt, Miami (Fla.), and Georgia Tech.
At the Falcon Invitational, the men's 8k race will start at 4:30 p.m., while the women will follow after at 5:10 p.m. for the 6k. The meet will take place at the Bowling Green Cross Country Course and will consist of schools such as Robert Morris, Ohio, and Marshall.
Earlier this week, senior Amy Rowan and freshman Lucas Kuhn were tabbed Horizon League Women's and Men's Runners of the Week, after leading Oakland in their respective races at the Ray Bullock Invitational. Rowan wrapped up the meet in 14th place, finishing at 23:01.55, while Kuhn led the men in 30th place in 26:31.82, beating his personal record.
