Final Regular Season #HLSB Series Concludes in Rochester this Weekend

ROCHESTER, Mich. – On May 5-6, Oakland University Softball hosts Purdue Fort Wayne in the two's final #HLSB series of the regular season at the OU Softball Field as the team celebrates senior day ahead of Saturday's doubleheader.

Oakland dropped a 13-0 decision to the last non-conference opponent of the season, the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor on Wednesday night. Maci Brown had a double while catcher Jen Krizka saw a single make it through the Wolverines' defense.

Reese Ruhlman has the team's best batting average at .318 after the senior started all 34 games heading into the weekend with 28 hits and 18 runs batted in. Krizka and Ruhlman have the best OPS in the conference, going one and two in the leaderboard with 1.058 and 1.053, respectively.

Oakland is 12th as a team when it comes to hit batters though Ruhlman leads the way with .39 a game, fourth in NCAA Division I. Prior to Wednesday's game, the Golden Grizzlies were also fourth in the country in triples per game at .45.

Brown sits at .311 ahead of Krizka at .293 with the latter of the two posting the team's most home runs (six) and RBI (24) on the year. Leah Bieniewicz has batted in 12 RBI behind Ruhlman, Allisa DiPrima, and Brown who have signaled 18 and 17 RBI.

Madi Herrington and Mia Konyvka have the fewest strikeouts on the team with six apiece. Herrington's on-base percentage sits third on the team at .402 behind Ruhlman and Krizka with .462 and .449, respectively.

Sydney Campbell will take the circle this weekend with no appearance in the Michigan game, a fresh arm, and the league's best-earned run average at 1.59. The all-time wins leader at Oakland has 15 so far this season, three ahead of second place, with only 13 walks to her name.

Konyvka started on Wednesday night against the Wolverines with freshman Maraina Smith entering the game later.

Senior day celebrations will begin Saturday before the doubleheader as we celebrate the career of Lauren Griffith. Saturday's doubleheader with the Mastodons will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
