ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland University Baseball and head coach
Jordon Banfield have announced six newcomers which will join the Golden Grizzlies' program as part of the 2023 recruiting class.
Â
"It's an exciting day for OU Baseball as we continue our daily work towards our goal of a Horizon League Championship," Banfield said, who enters his fourth year leading the Golden Grizzlies. "While we've had success supplementing our roster with transfers, high school recruiting will always be the foundation of our roster. Establishing a presence in the state hasn't been easy, but we've begun to see the benefits of winning on the local recruiting trail. Adding six players we really coveted, all from Michigan, certainly speaks to that. When they're all middle of the field players, three arms, two middle infielders and a catcher, it's even more exciting. Coach Nelson's work establishing relationships that go back multiple years with most of these guys deserves recognition and I look forward to our new staff members carrying that torch forward in the years to come."
