ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University Men's Soccer's 1994, NCAA Division II Runner-Up program will forever be enshrined in the Lepley Hall of Honor this February.

The Pioneers squad had the program's longest unbeaten streak at 14 games throughout the season, fighting through the NCAA Division II Tournament with wins over East Stroudsburg (Pa.) and Wisconsin-Parkside in the first two rounds of the central region, advancing to take on Seattle Pacific in the Semifinals.

From there, Oakland defeated SPU 6-4 to advance to the title bout with Tampa as the Pioneers were familiar with their opponent with games against the Spartans in the 1992 Semifinals.

Though falling in the National Championship game, several individuals played key roles by establishing history. Mali Walton became a three-time All-American and four-time All-Regional athlete while Eli Tiomkin became the first player in Oakland history to register a hat trick in NCAA Tournament play.

With Gary Parsons at the helm, Oakland toppled NCAA Division I opponents like Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan along with a 4-0 rout of Michigan.

Tiomkin would finish the year as the team's leading scorer with 15 goals and 12 assists off 66 shots heading into the title game as Walton would be just behind with a team-high 14 assists on the year tacked on by seven goals.

Two Golden Grizzlies goalies held firm between the posts with Amir Tal and Bill Miller who each calculated a 0.68 and 0.42 goals against average, respectively, while the two only gave up 15 goals in 2,077 minutes.
