Paul Doroh

Paul Doroh was named Head Coach of the Oakland Men's Soccer Program in April 2024 after being part of the Oakland men’s soccer coaching staff since 2016.

Doroh helped Oakland win the Horizon League two of the last three years, including winning both the HL regular season and Tournament Championships in 2021. That accomplishment earned the team a post-season NCAA Tournament appearance. While on staff at Oakland, the team compiled a 41-22-9 record in Horizon League Conference play.

Prior to Oakland, Doroh was a member of the Saginaw Valley State University men’s soccer coaching staff for one season under Head Coach Andrew Wagstaff (Oakland MSOC Alumnus and 2024 Hall of Honor inductee). There Doroh helped the team amass a 15-4-1 overall record and a 12-2-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record.

Doroh holds a USSF National Coaching License and coaches the Flint City Bucks in USL2. In his two years with the Bucks, he has helped a dozen players advance to the professional level and has led the team to two USL2 National Semi-Final appearances in as many years.

Doroh is a graduate of Oakland and was a four-year starter and two-time All-Conference selection. He was inducted into Oakland’s Hollie L. Lepley Hall of Honor in both 2010 (individually) and 2023 (as part of the 1994 team). As a player he helped lead the team to two National Championship appearances (1994 – Tampa, Fla., 1996 – Phoenix, Ariz.) and was one of the top defenders to ever play at Oakland. During his senior campaign in 1996, Doroh was named team captain, earned All-America and All-Region honors, and was part of record-setting defense that posted seven consecutive shutouts, 738 consecutive shutout minutes, and totaled 14 total shutout games. Thereafter he was invited to participate in the Umbro Senior Bowl and attended the MLS combine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

After his collegiate career, Doroh was drafted and played professionally in Savannah, Ga. and later returned to Michigan to play with the Michigan Bucks (now Flint City Bucks) and the Detroit Rockers.

Doroh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Oakland University and a Juris Doctor Degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he graduated cum laude. He and his wife Stacy reside in Armada, Mich. and have eight children.
