INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Wednesday, the Horizon League announced its 2022 #HLMSOC Preseason Coaches Poll with Oakland taking the top spot.

The Golden Grizzlies garnered six first-place votes to Cleveland State's two with both Milwaukee and Wright State picking up a single vote, respectively. Detroit Mercy find themselves fifth on the poll with 56 points while Northern Kentucky is sixth with 42, respectively.

Robert Morris is just ahead of Green Bay and Purdue Fort Wayne who are seventh and tied for eighth, respectively, while IUPUI rounds out the preseason poll in tenth. 

Oakland will open the regular season on Thursday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Omaha, Nebraska against Creighton.
