DAYTON, Ohio – A showdown between the conference's top-two teams in the regular season, the No. 2 Oakland Golden Grizzlies will square off with the No. 1 Wright State Raiders on Friday, May 27 at approximately 3:50 p.m. in Game No. 6 of the Horizon League Tournament.
Played on Wright State's campus, Oakland earned their spot in this game by defeating the No. 5 Youngstown State Penguins, 2-0, Thursday night behind seven-plus terrific innings from graduate student right-hander

The Raiders, meanwhile, ran past the No. 6 Northern Kentucky Norse, 18-4, Thursday afternoon, scoring a combined 10 runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
Oakland (30-25, 18-11) took four of five from Wright State (28-25, 20-9) in the regular season, winning two of three in Dayton on March 18 and 20 and sweeping a May 6 doubleheader in Rochester.
The winner of this Oakland/Wright State clash will advance to the championship series' Game No. 8 at 12 p.m. Saturday, while the loser will play the winner of Friday afternoon's Youngstown State/Northern Kentucky game in Game No. 7 at approximately 7:40 p.m. Friday.
Wright State's lineup is led by right fielder Alec Sayre, a sophomore from Dover, Ohio. The Horizon League Player of the Year in 2022, Sayre is hitting .348 (73-for-210) with 15 doubles, 10 home runs, 49 RBI, and nine stolen bases.
Third baseman Brad Nigh, the league's Freshman of the Year, is Oakland's leading hitter at .354 (34-for-96) with six doubles, seven home runs, and 32 RBI.
