OAKLAND TO FACE YOUNGSTOWN STATE THURSDAY

DAYTON, Ohio – Game No. 4 of the Horizon League Tournament on the campus of Wright State, the No. 2 Oakland Golden Grizzlies will battle the No. 5 Youngstown State Penguins on Thursday, May 26 at 9:15 p.m.

Youngstown State earned their spot in this game by defeating the No. 4 Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons, 6-0, on Wednesday behind a three-hit, 10-strikeout complete game from junior right-hander Matt Brosky.

Head coach Dan Bertolini's Penguins (20-34, 12-16) actually took three of five from the Golden Grizzlies (29-25, 18-11) this season. Oakland won two of three in Rochester from April 1-3, but Youngstown State swept an April 22 doubleheader.

The winner of this Oakland/Youngstown State tilt will advance to Game No. 6 on Friday at 12 p.m., while the loser will play in Game No. 5 at 7 p.m. Thursday.

No. 1 Wright State and No. 6 Northern Kentucky will square off in Game No. 3 at 11 a.m. Thursday, prior to the Oakland game.

Like the Golden Grizzlies, the top-seeded Raiders earned a Wednesday bye in this double-elimination tournament, while Northern Kentucky outlasted the No. 3 UIC Flames, 3-2, in 11 innings Wednesday to move on.
