Indianapolis, Ind. – Extending Oakland's streak to three consecutive awards, junior left-hander
Travis Densmore claimed Nike #HLBASE Pitcher of the Week honors on Tuesday, April 5.
Densmore joins senior
Bryce Konitzer and redshirt junior
Brett Hagen – recipients on March 22 and 29, respectively – as Golden Grizzlies to be recognized in 2022.
Matching a career-high by going seven innings, the southpaw allowed only one run on five hits in the April 2 victory over Youngstown State, moving his season record to 2-0.
Needing just 95 pitches to record these 21 outs, the second-year Golden Grizzly walked one Penguin and struck out four, his second-most in an appearance this season.
Additionally, Densmore started the road win over Michigan on March 30, working the first 2.2 frames of that game.
Overall, the 6-foot-1, 182-pound Densmore has appeared in seven contests this year, three of which have been starts, posting an ERA of 6.00, a 1.79 WHIP, .360 OBA, seven walks, and 17 strikeouts in 24 innings.
Paired with graduate student second baseman
Brad Goulet winning the Nike #HLBASE Batter of the Week, Oakland becomes just the second program to sweep the awards this season, as Youngstown State also accomplished the feat on March 22.
