Indianapolis, Ind. – Oakland redshirt junior right-hander Brett Hagen was named the Nike Horizon League Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, March 29.

The Turlock, Calif. native and Modesto Junior College transfer received the recognition for tossing his first complete game as a Golden Grizzly in the 10-2 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, March 25.

Navigating the approximately 43-degree temperatures, Hagen scattered seven hits, walked three, and struck out a career-high five, helping Oakland secure a split of the day's doubleheader.

He becomes the second Golden Grizzly to receive Nike Horizon League Pitcher of the Week honors in 2022, joining senior righty Bryce Konitzer, who split the March 22 award with Youngstown State redshirt senior right-hander Jon Snyder.

On the season, Hagen owns a 2-1 record, 4.06 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and has pitched 31 innings over six appearances (three starts). He is next scheduled to start on Friday, April 1 against Youngstown State at home at 2:30 p.m.
