ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland baseball will open their 2022 season at CSU Bakersfield for a three-game series Feb. 18-20. The first game is set for Friday, Feb. 18 at 9:05 p.m. ET, with game two scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 19 at 9:05 p.m. and the series finale coming on Sunday, Feb. 20 at 4:05 p.m.
Senior Bryce Konitzer will start on the mound after coming off a strong 2021 season where he led the pitching staff in strikeouts (62) and innings pitched (67.0), and also tied for second in wins (3). A transfer from Dallas Baptist, Chas Sagedahl, will pitch on Saturday, followed by Jacob Wosinski on Sunday. Wosinkski spent much of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery and is ready to get back on the mound at full strength.
All three games will be broadcast live on ESPN+, and the series marks the first ever meeting between the two teams. Oakland baseball was voted sixth in the Horizon League preseason poll earlier this week.
