Jared Miller hits first home run of the season in first inning

DAYTON, Ohio
- Oakland held a 6-5 lead into the ninth inning, but could not hold on as Dayton got a pair of runs including a walk-off RBI single for a 7-6 win on Sunday afternoon. Jared Miller led the way going 2-for-3, hitting his first home run of the season on the first pitch of the game, with two walks and an RBI. 

Brooks Asher furnished a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 3-for-4 with a double and a walk. Lorenzo Elion also contributed, going 1-for-3 for Oakland with two walks and an RBI. Cam Post also went 1-for-4 with an RBI and run.

Bryce Konitzer started the ballgame for Oakland (6-5) going 5.0 innings, surrendering one run on four hits, walking two and striking out seven for the no-decision. Seth Tucker took the loss in relief in the ninth inning.

The Golden Grizzlies got on the board immediately as Miller put Oakland on the board with a lead-off home run off Dayton (3-7) starter Dylan Keller.

The Flyers then tied the ballgame at one before the Golden Grizzlies came back to reclaim their advantage in the fifth inning off Post's RBI single followed by Michael Stygles scoring off a passed ball for a 3-1 lead. Dayton came back to even the ballgame at three in the bottom half of the sixth inning. 

Oakland reclaimed a 6-3 advantage in the seventh inning with three runs off Elion's RBI single, followed by a sacrifice fly from Brenton Phillips and Luke Malmanger scoring off a passed ball. The Flyers pulled with in one run at 6-5 in the bottom of the frame and add another two in the ninth to secure the win.

Oakland opens Horizon League play with a four-game set at Northern Kentucky starting on Friday, March 12 at 2 p.m.
