MEN’S BASKETBALL EARNS FOUR ALL-LEAGUE HONORS

INDIANAPOLISJalen Moore, Daniel Oladapo, Micah Parrish, and Trey Townsend earned Horizon League honors, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. Moore (First Team) and Oladapo (Third Team) were selected to the All-League team, while Parrish and Townsend earned a spot on the All-Freshman team. All-League voting was done by the 12 head coaches in the conference.

Moore
Moore played in all 27 regular season games averaging 17.8 points, 8.4 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per contest. He currently ranks first nationally in assists per game, total assists (227), free throw makes (154), free throw attempts (197), and total minutes played (1,009:50). The Cloverdale, Ind. native is on pace to become the first NCAA Division I player in the last 36 years to lead the nation in assists per game and free throws made in a single season. To add, he ranks fourth nationally in total points (481) and is one of 14 players in the country with a triple-double this season. The newcomer was one of two players (Loudon Love) in the conference named to the Lou Henson Award midseason watch list.

Against Horizon League opponents, Moore has averaged 19.5 points (third in HL), 9.5 assists (first in HL), 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 steals (sixth in HL) per game. The point guard has recorded nine double-doubles in conference play, which is the second-highest total in the HL and the most nationally by a player under 6-foot. He earned his lone Horizon League Player of the Week award (1/18) after posting consecutive double-doubles en route to a weekend sweep over Youngstown State. In League play alone, Moore has scored in double figures 17 times and dished out 10-plus assists in 11 games.

Oladapo
Oladapo has averaged 15.1 points and 10.3 rebounds on 61.5 percent shooting through 20 conference matchups. In League play, the junior forward leads the HL in field goal percentage and offensive rebounding (4.0 per game) while ranking second in overall rebounding. He is one of just two players (Elyjah Goss) to average a double-double against conference opponents. Nationally, the Bladensburg, Md. native ranks fourth in total rebounds (238), 10th in offensive rebounds per game (3.70), 23rd in double-doubles (eight), and 48th in rebounds per game (8.8).

Oladapo has scored in double figures in 14 of the last 15 games, including three games with 20 or more points. The second-year starter exploded for 25 points and 20 rebounds, both career highs, at Robert Morris (2/12) to become the first Golden Grizzly since Keith Benson (Austin Peay, 11/27/10) to achieve the 20-20 feat. He became the fifth player in NCAA Division I this season to record a 20-20 game against a D1 opponent and the 12th player in the country to record 20 or more rebounds in a single game. It marked the lone 20-20 performance from a player in the Horizon League, as well as the second 20-plus rebound game in the conference.

Parrish
Parrish was named the League's Freshman of the Week twice en route to earning All-Freshman honors. The newcomer transformed into one of Oakland's most consistent performers, as he scored in double figures in the last eight games of the regular season, including two double-doubles. The Ypsilanti, Mich. has averaged 10.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals while shooting 59.3% from the field in 19 conference games. Parrish shot above 50% in 14 of his last 17 games. On the defensive end, he ranks third in the HL in steals per game (1.7) and 25th nationally in total steals (43). The forward also holds a top-10 conference mark in offensive rebounding (2.4 per game).

Townsend
Townsend garnered HL Freshman of the Week honors twice in his first season with the Golden Grizzlies. The native of nearby Oxford started all 27 regular season games and is the team's top shot blocker (0.8 per game) and second-leading rebounder (5.9 per game). He totaled two double-doubles, which tied for the third-highest mark amongst teammates. Through 20 conference games, he has averaged 9.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.0 blocks while shooting 51.4% from the field. In HL play, Townsend ranks sixth in blocks, 10th in steals, and 12th in rebounding.

Oakland received a first-round bye and will face the second-highest seed remaining from the opening round in the Horizon League Championship quarterfinals on Tuesday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. inside the O'rena. For more information, visit the conference championship page.
