ROCHESTER, Mich. — Mike Brosseau has been named to the Hollie L. Lepley Hall of Honor class of 2022. Brosseau was a member of the Oakland baseball team from 2013-16.Â
Brosseau, a native of Muster, Indiana, was a four-year starter as an infielder with the Golden Grizzlies. He was a two-time All-Horizon League First Team selection and garnered ABCA All-Mideast Region Second Team honors as a senior. In 2016, Brosseau led the Horizon League in on-base percentage (.456) and ranked second in home runs (10) and slugging percentage (.571). He also led the Golden Grizzlies in batting average (.354), runs scored (49), walks (27), and stolen bases (8).Â
Â
Brosseau finished his career as one of the top hitters in program history. He became just the fifth player in school history to amass over 200 hits and tallied a program-record 514 assists. Brosseau ranks top-10 in school history in games played (189), at-bats (704), runs scored (128), doubles (39), home runs (19), and total bases (319).
After Oakland, Brosseau signed a free-agent contract with the Tampa Bay Ray. He quickly climbed through the minor league ranks, making his major league debut on June 23, 2019, against the Oakland Athletics. In his first Major League at-bat, he posted a single and went on to hit .273 with seven doubles, six home runs, and 16 RBIs in 50 games during the 2019 season.Â
In the shortened 2020 regular season, Brosseau batted .302 with five doubles, one triple, five home runs, and 12 RBIs in 36 games. Most notably, Brosseau belted a game-winning home run off New York Yankees' closer Aroldis Chapman in the top of the ninth inning, sending the Tampa Bay Rays to the American League Championship Series. In his third season with the Rays, he tallied nine doubles, five home runs, and 18 RBIs in 57 games.Â
The Milwaukee Brewers signed Brosseau in November 2021.Â

What does being inducted to the Hall of Honor mean to you?
It means a great deal to my family and me. To be in the same category as so many Oakland greats is very humbling, and I couldn't be more grateful to join such a prestigious group of legends.
What is your favorite Oakland University memory?
As much as athletics and academics were such a big part of my college career, I constantly look back and appreciate the relationships and friendships I developed over my time at OU. I was lucky enough to come across some of the best people I've ever met who not only helped me develop as a man while on campus but still to this day.
What did you do after your Oakland experience (career, professionally, etc.)?
I signed to play baseball with the Tampa Bay Rays organization. I was acquired by the Milwaukee Brewers in November 2021.
