Box Score MUNCIE, Ind. – The Oakland tennis team fell to Ball State, 7-0 Sunday from the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center, snapping its three game win streak.
The Golden Grizzlies entered the match coming off a 7-0 win to University of Findlay.
The no. 2 doubles match finished first on the day, as
Darya Maltseva and
Alexandra Whall were unable to take down the Cardinals twosome of Amy Kaplan and Victoria Sec, falling 6-1.
Ava Thielman and
Victoria Kurz competed at the no, 1 doubles spot. The duo battled on the top court before Ball State's Livia Lukacs and Emma Peeler came out on top, 6-3.
Despite already clinching the doubles point, the no. 3 court of
Nirva Patel and
Aarja Chakraborty finished their match, but were unable to top the doubles team of Rebecca Herrington and Jessica Braun.
The Golden Grizzlies unfortunately were unable to bounce back during singles action, dropping ever match to the Cardinals.
Oakland falls to 3-2 following Sunday's match, while Ball State improved to 6-1 on the year. The Golden Grizzlies head to their annual spring break trip in Florida that features four matches. Competition will begin with Bethune-Cookman Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m.
