ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland men's basketball team will face off against its third-straight Power 5 opponent Saturday as the Golden Grizzlies take on Oklahoma State, Saturday Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) from Stillwater, Okla. at Gallagher-Iba Arena on ESPN+. 
 
Saturday's game marks the first meeting between the Golden Grizzlies and the Cowboys. The Golden Grizzlies look to snap its five-game losing streak, as Oklahoma State is off to a 3-0 start.
 
NOTES
> Head coach Greg Kampe enters his 37th season at the helm of the Golden Grizzlies and is the third-most tenured active coach at one school behind Duke's Mike Krzyzewksi (41 seasons) and Syracuse's Jim Boeheim (45 seasons)
 
> Oakland is averaging 10.0 steals a game, tallying a nation-best 50 total steals. *Tied for first with Kansas City
 
> Oakland forced 20 turnovers, 15 coming in the first half, as the Golden Grizzlies scored 15 points off the Wolverines' miscues. Michigan's 20 turnovers were the most from any opponent since Oakland's season opener a season ago against Goshen (11/5/19) where the Maple Leafs also committed 20 turnovers.
 
> Oakland's non-conference schedule featured four-straight Power-5 schools in Michigan (11/29), Purdue (12/1), Oklahoma State (12/5) and Michigan State (12/13) to round out non-conference play
 
> Jalen Moore has been a key addition to the Golden Grizzlies' lineup as the junior transfer leads the team in points, assists and steals. The Cloverdale, Ind. native has started four games for the Golden Grizzlies and ranks third in the country in total steals (14) and T13 in total points scored (76).
 
>Freshman Micah Parrish leads the Golden Grizzlies in rebounding, pulling down a team-best 32 boards, the most among the Horizon League 
 
> Saturday's matchup marks the first-ever game between Oakland and Oklahoma State
 
> Oakland is coming off five games in seven days played Nov. 25-Dec.1

> The Golden Grizzlies return one lone senior to this year's squad in Kevin Kangu. Kangu appeared in all 33 games last season, making 18 starts, leading Oakland in assists (114), and averaging 5.1 ppg 
 
> Oakland added seven newcomers to the 2020-21 squad, including two transfers in Zion Young (Western Illinois), and Jalen Moore (Olney Central College) 
 
> Oakland was picked to finish sixth in the 2020-21 Horizon League Men's Basketball Preseason Poll announced by the league office. The preseason poll was voted on by the league's head coaches, media members, and men's basketball media contacts throughout the league 
 
> Rashad Williams earned preseason accolades, being named second team all-league. The junior guard is coming off a 2019-20 campaign where he led the team in averaging 19.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. Williams, a transfer from Cleveland State missed 18 games last season due to NCAA transfer rules, but started the remaining 15 games of the season after receiving a waiver from the NCAA on Jan. 16.
