ORLANDO – Former Oakland men's basketball standout, and current Miami Heat guard,
Kendrick Nunn tallied 13 points, his second-straight double digit NBA Finals performance Friday night.
The rookie also pulled down four boards, dished out three assists and was the only player on the Heat to record a block. Nunn also went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
In Wednesday's Finals debut, Nunn added 18 points going 8-of-11 (73 percent) from the floor and shot 50 percent from 3-point range (2-of-4).
Nunn, the 2018 Horizon League Player of the Year, finished runner-up in the NBA Rookie of the Year voting behind Ja Morant, but in front of the first overall selection in this year's draft Zion Williamson. During the regular season, the former Golden Grizzlies standout played in 67 games, all in the starting lineup, averaging 15.3 points per game in 29 minutes of action, while shooting 44 percent from the floor. He also chipped in 3.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game.
The Heat fell to the Lakers, 124-114 and trail the series 2-0. Game three of the finals is set for Sunday at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
