ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland tennis team will continue the 2020 season as the Golden Grizzlies take on Akron, Sunday, Jan. 26 at 9 a.m. at LaTuchie Tennis Center in Stow.
 
The Golden Grizzlies are slated to take on four-straight Mid-American Conference (MAC) opponents as last weekend started with Western Michigan. Following Oakland's match-up to Akron on Sunday, the Golden Grizzlies are hosting Toledo on Sunday, Feb. 9 at Bloomfield Tennis & Fitness beginning at 4:30. The Golden Grizzlies will travel to Muncie, Ind. to face off against Ball State before heading to Florida for their annual Spring Break trip. 

Oakland is coming off a close competition to Western Michigan as the Golden Grizzlies dropped the first match of the season to Western Michigan, 4-3.
 
Oakland was selected to finish third in the 2020 Horizon League women's tennis preseason poll. The Golden Grizzlies also received two first place votes. It marks the second straight season Oakland has been selected to finish third place.
