
ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland baseball team hits the road for a weekend Horizon League series at Milwaukee. The opener and series finale will be played at Henry Aaron Field on Friday, May 10 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 13 at noon respectively. The second game will be played at Miller Park which is home to Major League Baseball's Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, May 11 at 3 p.m. Each game will be broadcast live on the Black & Gold Radio Network.

Notes:
- This marks the second consecutive year Oakland has played in an MLB ballpark. Last season, the Golden Grizzlies played Central Michigan at Comerica Park in Detroit, Mich. Oakland and Milwaukee also played at Miller Park during the 2017 season with the Panthers coming out on top, 10-3.
- Oakland enters the series after dropping its final non-conference game of the season at Central Michigan, 14-3.
Matt DiLeo went 1-for-2 with a RBI single and a pair of walks,
Jace Matkin hit 2-for-4 with a RBI while
Austin Tangney added a RBI to round out the scoring against the Chippewas.
- The Golden Grizzlies played a total of five schools from the Mid-American Conference (MAC) schools this season with a 2-6 mark after sweeping both games against Eastern Michigan, dropping a pair against CMU, three games Miami (Ohio) and a game each at Bowling Green and Toledo.
- Milwaukee is 27-17-1 on the season sitting in second place in league play with a 14-9 mark after going 1-2 at UIC last weekend.
Milwaukee Series Rewind:
- Earlier this season, the Golden Grizzlies took two games against visiting Milwaukee to win the team's third consecutive league series.
Andrew Hoffmann posted a career-high nine strikeouts in 5.0 innings of work to record his first collegiate win while
Blake Griffith blasted a three-run home run posting five total RBI to lead Oakland to a 12-5 win and doubleheader split in home opening action against Milwaukee (4/6).
Cameron Fuller notched his first career save going 4.0 innings with five strikeouts. Krsolovic also hit a three-run home run with DiLeo going 2-for-4 with an RBI double and two-run single. The third inning proved to be the difference as Oakland nearly batted through the lineup twice posting nine runs in an inning for the second time this season.
Last time out in league play:
- Oakland was swept at NKU after losing in heartbreaking fashion in the series opener, 11-10, despite
Mike McGee and
Blake Griffith each connecting on a three-run homer. With the Golden Grizzlies leading 10-7 in the top of the ninth inning with two outs, NKU was able to load the based with a walk and a pair of singles. Andrew Bacon then hit a deep fly ball off the left center field wall and was able to round the bases and score on a rare inside the park grand slam home run giving the Norse a 11-10 lead they would not relinquish.

Mario Camilletti each hit a home run as Oakland dropped a doubleheader at NKU, 12-3, 14-3. On the day, Camilletti hit 4-for-7 coming a triple short of the cycle in the second game with a two-run home run, double and single. Matkin, Griffith and DiLeo each recorded two hits with a RBI and run.

- DiLeo has reached base in 31 consecutive games and leads the team hitting (.313), hits (45), triples (2 - 8th Horizon League), runs scored (29) and on base percentage (.438 – 7th HL). He ranks second in total bases (64), stolen bases (10 – 10th HL) and slugging percentage (.444), third in walks (26), RBI (20) and home runs (4). He is tied with team-best 10 multi-hit games with three 3-hit games.

- Griffith leads the team in home runs (6 - 10th Horizon League), slugging percentage (.481), and total bases (65), ranks second RBI (28) and triples (1), third in hits (39), fourth in walks (21) and fifth in doubles (6)
- He has recorded five RBI twice against EKU and Milwaukee with six total multi-RBI games and posted a team second-best nine multi-hit games including one 3-hit and one 4-hit game

Beau Keathley leads the team and is second in the league in strikeouts (74) and has recorded double figure strikeouts twice this season at Morehead State (12) and at YSU (13). He also ranks 23rd nationally in hits allowed per nine innings (5.71).
- He was named Nike® Horizon League Pitcher of the Week after earning his third straight win posting eight strikeouts allowing only one hit off a bunt and one unearned run in 7.0 innings of work to lead Oakland to a 3-1 victory over Milwaukee in the series finale (4/7). Earlier in the season, Keathley was named Nike® Horizon League Pitcher of the Week and was also selected as one of Collegiate Baseball's National Players of the Week after a dominant performance on the mound going the distance tossing a complete game shutout allowing only three scattered hits while posting a career-high 13 strikeouts to lead Oakland to an 8-0 series clinching win over Keathley allowed just one hit in the first, second and ninth innings and retired 14 straight batters between the third and seventh innings.
